Annie Bell “Pat” Carter – Ferriday, Louisiana
Annie Bell “Pat” Carter, born January 15, 1940, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, to Ferinand Bill Delaughter and Eunice Graves Cole, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, at her home in Ferriday, Louisiana. Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her strong spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Pat’s passing marks the end of an era, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
Pat is now reunited with her parents, her husband, Reginald P. Carter, Jr., and her daughter, Phyllis Ann Stephens, as well as five sisters and two brothers. She was a cherished matriarch who devoted much of her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with love and laughter. Those left to honor her memory include her son, Phillip “Jerome” Carter and wife Melissa of Ferriday, LA; three granddaughters, Amber Stephens of Vidalia, LA, Gabrielle Stephens of Ferriday, LA, and Anabelle Stephens of Brandon, MS; as well as twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Her legacy will continue through them, and her influence will be felt in the generations that follow.
Services for Pat will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m., with Bro. Denny Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, where Pat will be laid to rest alongside loved ones. Pallbearers will include Joshua Stephens, Carter Short, Danny Brown, Homer Nettles, Aidan Glidden, and Josh Short. Honorary pallbearers will be Dearon Short, Caleb Glidden, Ben Bowers, and Cody Bowers. Pat’s family is thankful for the support and love shown during this difficult time. She will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, Pat.
