Jack’s journey with the Spring Mill Fire Company began as a Junior Firefighter—a role that would become the foundation of a lifelong calling. From those early days, it was clear that he carried something rare: a deep sense of duty and a natural instinct to serve. Over the course of 38 years, he grew not only in rank but in influence, eventually becoming Deputy Chief and later serving on the Board of Directors.
A Mentor, A Leader, A Brother in Service
To those who served alongside him, Jack was more than an officer—he was a cornerstone of the firehouse. He was the kind of leader who did not need to demand respect; he earned it through consistency, humility, and action. Whether responding to emergencies, training younger firefighters, or offering guidance during difficult calls, Jack remained steady when others needed stability most.
