It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Wyatt Sekura, aged 28, on January 1, 2026. Wyatt’s sudden death has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the broader Drayton Valley community. While his time with us was far too brief, Wyatt’s energy, warmth, and kindness made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Known for his deep love for music, the outdoors, and his community, Wyatt was a passionate and devoted individual who lived life to the fullest. His unexpected passing has left his loved ones in grief, but they find comfort in the beautiful memories he created during his all-too-short life.

Wyatt is survived by his partner and best friend, Tanis; his parents, Corey and Lorena Sekura, and Vicki and Danny Vincent; his brother, Justin (Morgan); his sisters, Lindsay (Donnie), Tiffany (Eric), and Sara (Joel); and his beloved nieces and nephews, Kallie, Adellynn, Abigail, Amelia, Aversyn, and Koen. Wyatt was a cherished family member, a devoted uncle, and a loyal friend to many. He was also predeceased by his uncle Ron and cousin Cheyenne, whom he now joins in eternal rest. Wyatt’s family, who meant everything to him, take solace in knowing that his spirit will continue to live on in the love he shared with them and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

A true free spirit, Wyatt’s life was marked by his passions and talents. Music was at the core of his being; whether battling in rap contests, creating his own rhythms, or simply connecting to the melodies that moved him, music was where Wyatt truly thrived. Beyond his musical talents, Wyatt had the heart of an entrepreneur, bringing his creativity to everything he touched—be it thrifted clothing, farm work, or motorsports. A self-proclaimed “farm boy,” Wyatt found joy in working with cattle and served as a ringman at Sekura Auctions, where his connection to the land and his community was palpable. His spirit was vibrant, and his energy was contagious. Whether it was dirt biking, snow biking, or hiking, Wyatt loved exploring the great outdoors, and Savary Island held a special place in his heart. He was also known for his compassion and selflessness, volunteering his time at senior homes and supporting those in need. He gave without seeking recognition, offering comfort and kindness whenever and wherever he could.

Wyatt’s family and friends will forever cherish his memory, and his legacy of love, joy, and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him. He lived a life full of passion, teaching those around him important lessons in patience, love, and gratitude. His boundless curiosity, sense of adventure, and deep conversations will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to spend time with him. Wyatt’s infectious laugh, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
