The Carnaross GAA community and the wider local area are in mourning following the devastating passing of Danielle Kerrigan on Thursday morning. The news has left a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Danielle, the beloved daughter of Mark Kerrigan, the LGFA Juvenile Chairperson, was a true ambassador of the sport, known for her unwavering dedication and spirit. From U-8 right up to Senior level, Danielle wore the Carnaross jersey with pride. Her debut in the senior league last spring was a highlight of her football career, marking the culmination of years of hard work, resilience, and passion. As a player, Danielle was known for her lightning speed, strong tackling ability, and grit on the pitch. Her determination was reflected in her ownership of the No. 7 jersey, from youth levels to senior competitions.

Throughout her career, Danielle racked up an impressive collection of medals, including U12, U13, U14, and most recently, the U15 Division title last May.

But Danielle’s talents extended beyond football. She was a skilled Irish dancer, a talented swimmer, and an accomplished rugby player. Her dedication to sport was matched only by her kindness and the positivity she radiated wherever she went.
