6-Year-Old Girl Dies in Tragic New Year’s Eve Rollover Crash on Hwy 14 in Mojave


Mojave, CA – A heart-wrenching New Year’s Eve crash on Highway 14 in Mojave claimed the life of 6-year-old Zyon Romero, who was ejected from a Chevrolet Tahoe during a rollover collision. The accident occurred just before 12:45 p.m. on December 31, north of Phillips Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident began when the driver, a 40-year-old woman, was forced off the road by two other vehicles. In an attempt to regain control, the Chevrolet Tahoe overturned in the center median. Zyon, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was tragically thrown from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.

The crash left two other minors, aged 9 and 11, with minor to moderate injuries, while the driver also sustained moderate injuries. All four were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities are still working to determine the precise circumstances that led to the deadly rollover.
