SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA – A devastating collision between a passenger vehicle and a big rig on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass claimed the life of a 21-year-old Auburn man on Wednesday afternoon


According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the crash occurred around 4 p.m., approximately 22 miles west of Cle Elum. Investigators reported that a red Honda Civic was traveling west on I-90 at an unsafe speed for the road conditions when it collided with a westbound semi-truck.

Emergency responders, including WSP troopers and medical crews, arrived promptly at the scene. The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. Fortunately, the operator of the semi-truck emerged unharmed. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.

The collision led to significant traffic delays as officials conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway. No additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been released, with WSP continuing to handle the ongoing investigation.
