San Jose, CA – A bicyclist who was critically injured in a collision with a car in San Jose last month has tragically passed away from his injuries, weeks after the accident. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner confirmed the death, marking a painful end to a story that began on December 16, 2025, when the man was struck near the intersection of North First Street and East Brokaw Road.
At approximately 11 a.m. on that fateful morning, San Jose police officers responded to reports of a serious collision involving a bicyclist and a car. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators determined that the crash occurred when a 2024 Lexus, traveling westbound on East Brokaw Road, struck the man, who was riding an e-bike southbound on North First Street. The force of the collision caused the bicyclist to be thrown from his e-bike, suffering life-threatening injuries in the process.
The driver of the Lexus, whose identity has not been released, remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with authorities. Paramedics quickly arrived and rushed the injured cyclist to the hospital, where he was treated for severe injuries. He was initially stabilized but continued to battle for his life over the following weeks.
