A Life of Service and Dedication
On December 9, 2025, the DeWitt and Lansing communities were struck with profound sorrow as they learned of the unexpected passing of Norman Michael Naimy, known fondly to many as Norm. A devoted husband, father, and lifelong friend, Norm left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His untimely death has left a void that will never be filled, but his legacy—rooted in service, love, and laughter—will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness.
Norm’s life was dedicated to service. For 25 years, he proudly served as a Lansing Police Officer, known not only for his unwavering commitment to his work but for his big-hearted personality and sharp wit. Whether he was assisting his colleagues or offering comfort to community members, Norm’s presence was a constant source of reassurance. He was a man who listened, who cared, and who always went above and beyond to help those in need. It wasn’t just his badge that earned him respect—it was his character. He became a steady rock for both his colleagues and the people he served, always putting others’ needs before his own.
Family: His Greatest Gift
Norm’s greatest pride and joy, however, were his family. In 2002, he married the love of his life, Julie, and together, they built a beautiful family. Their children, Brendan and Kaylie, were the center of Norm’s world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was cheering them on during sporting events, sharing meals, or simply being present, Norm was a father who was always there for his children, offering unwavering love and support.
Norm’s devotion to his family extended beyond his role as a husband and father. He was a loyal brother, a caring son, and a cherished friend. His relationships were built on a foundation of trust, compassion, and humor. His playful sense of humor could light up any room, and his ability to make people laugh—even during the toughest times—was a gift that those around him will never forget. For Norm, family was everything, and he always made sure those closest to him knew how much they meant to him.
A Legacy of Generosity and Strength
Norm’s generosity didn’t stop with his family. He was a lifelong fitness enthusiast, frequently seen at the gym and known for his dedication, particularly to the stairmaster—a machine that many avoided but one he tackled with determination every day. He was also an avid golfer and pickleball player, always up for friendly competition and a good laugh. Norm was a loyal Detroit Lions fan, supporting his team with the same passion and enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life.
In an extraordinary act of kindness, Norm became an organ donor, offering the gift of life to others even after his passing. This final selfless act perfectly encapsulates the generosity that defined his life. He was a man who always thought of others, and his legacy will continue through the lives of those who benefit from his gift.
Norm’s sudden death has left a deep sense of loss in the hearts of his beloved wife, Julie; his children, Brendan and Kaylie; his brothers, Rob and Michael; his sister-in-law, Pam; and countless friends, colleagues, and extended family members. They take comfort in knowing that Norm’s love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on through them.
