After an inspiring and courageous battle with cancer, Frank passed away on December 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Frank’s passing marks the end of an era for Newfoundland’s automotive industry, one that he shaped and led with unparalleled vision, integrity, and dedication.

For over fifty years, Frank Howard was not just a business mogul, but a true pioneer in the automotive sector. From humble beginnings with a single dealership, Frank transformed his vision into Capital Auto Group, an iconic organization that represents ten automotive brands and employs more than 500 people. His entrepreneurial journey didn’t stop there; Frank also expanded his influence through The Howard Group, which manages a vast real estate portfolio. But it wasn’t just his business acumen that set him apart—it was his deep-rooted sense of responsibility to his community that truly defined him.

A Legacy of Philanthropy and Community Impact
