21-year-old Guilibaldo Vejarbarber of Omak was driving a 2015 Acura RDX northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he moved into the southbound lane and collided with an oncoming 2023 Kia Sportage. Vejarbarber sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Three Rivers Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Kia, 62-year-old William Morgan of Gig Harbor, was thankfully uninjured. However, his passenger, 70-year-old Cynthia Morgan, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Confluence Health for critical care. Authorities reported that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the accident.
