Santa Rosa, CA – The Santa Rosa community experienced traffic disruptions Friday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash on northbound US-101 near the Airport Boulevard on-ramp left one person injured. The collision occurred at approximately 1:41 p.m. on January 9, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP reports indicate that the incident involved at least four vehicles, including a white Honda, black sedan, white Toyota Highlander, and a white Mercedes. Initial dispatch reports described a single overturned vehicle, but responders confirmed multiple vehicles were involved. One car was reported flipped onto its hood, while another came to rest about 100 feet off the roadway, highlighting the severity of the crash.
A passenger sustained an ankle injury and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for medical care. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and no arrests have been made in connection with the collision. CHP officials have not yet released details regarding contributing factors such as speed, lane changes, or potential impairment.
Emergency personnel, including CHP officers and assisting agencies, responded quickly to the scene. They coordinated medical transport, secured the area, collected evidence, and removed damaged vehicles from the roadway. The crash caused temporary traffic disruptions on northbound US-101 near the Airport Blvd on-ramp, as emergency crews worked to restore safe travel conditions.
