The tragic loss of Tegan Hallie Zoephel has left her loved ones and the television community reeling. At just 24 years old, Tegan had already made a name for herself as an associate producer and field producer on the hit show 7 Little Johnstons. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others, both in her personal life and through her professional work. Tegan’s creativity, thoughtfulness, and vibrant spirit were evident in everything she did, from her love for the arts to her work in television production.
Born in Aurora, Illinois, on June 14, 2000, Tegan was a passionate artist from a young age. Whether she was drawing, painting, playing the piano, or participating in theater, Tegan immersed herself in creative pursuits, constantly seeking new ways to express her passion. She later pursued her love for storytelling at the Savannah College of Art and Design, graduating in 2021. Her move into television production came naturally, and her work ethic and creativity led her to join the Producers Guild of America. On 7 Little Johnstons, Tegan was known for her dedication, her thoughtful approach to production, and her undeniable warmth.
Her colleagues remember her as a gifted individual with a big heart, always willing to lend a hand and share her infectious enthusiasm. Tegan’s death has left an immense gap in the production community, and her colleagues will forever remember her as an essential part of the team.
Family: The Heart of Tegan’s Life
For Tegan, family was everything. She found great joy in spending time with her parents, Jeffrey and Kimberly Zoephel, and her two sisters, Brenna and Kaelin. Her family memories were filled with laughter, love, and close-knit moments. Whether traveling, playing board games, or just enjoying simple times together, Tegan cherished these moments above all else.
Tegan’s family has been left heartbroken by the loss of their beloved daughter and sister. In addition to her parents and sisters, Tegan is survived by her maternal grandparents, Bruce and Doris Jesch, her paternal grandmother, Edna Zoephel, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her loyal dog, Scout, will also miss her dearly. Tegan’s passing is a devastating loss for her loved ones, but her warmth, kindness, and the love she gave will forever live in their hearts.
Honoring Tegan’s Legacy and Fighting for Mental Health Awareness
As Tegan’s family and community mourn her death, they are also seeking to honor her memory by encouraging support for suicide prevention. Memorial contributions may be made to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, a cause close to Tegan’s heart. Mental health awareness and support for those in crisis are vital, and her family hopes that Tegan’s story will inspire others to seek help and support those around them who may be struggling.
