A Light Extinguished Too Early

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rhett Lee Blemaster, age 26, of East Lansing, Michigan, announces his passing on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Born on August 3, 1999, in St. Johns, MI, Rhett was the beloved son of Christopher Dale Blemaster and Lisa Ann (Rice) Conklin. Originally from Maple Rapids, he was a proud graduate of Fowler High School, class of 2019. His sudden passing has left a void felt deeply by family, friends, and the East Lansing community. Rhett’s presence was a source of joy, laughter, and love for all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his absence has created an emptiness that will be profoundly felt for years to come.

A Life Filled With Love, Laughter, and Passion

Rhett shared his life with his wife, Gabrielle “Gabby” Knoespel, whom he married on March 19, 2023. Together with their cherished fur babies, Captain and Princess, Rhett created a home overflowing with warmth, joy, and unforgettable memories. Known for his playful humor, generosity, and infectious personality, he was a gifted prep cook at Olga’s Kitchen in Lansing and a self-proclaimed hot sauce connoisseur. Rhett’s love for cars, video games, and experimenting with new flavors in the kitchen reflected his spirited, adventurous nature. Those close to him will always remember his ability to turn ordinary moments into cherished experiences, and the way he made everyone around him feel loved and valued. His laughter, kindness, and playful energy were gifts he shared freely with the world.

Faith, Community, and a Lasting Legacy

Beyond his personal passions, Rhett was a devoted member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where he served as a greeter and contributed to the community kitchen. His commitment to service, faith, and the well-being of others reflected the depth of his compassion. Rhett is survived by his wife Gabby, his father Chris Blemaster and stepmother Joana Flores, his siblings Randall, Jakob, Jay, and Jillian, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who were like family. Though his family now faces the difficult challenge of navigating life without him, his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to guide and inspire them. The memories, stories, and love he leaves behind will ensure that his spirit remains alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
