A Light Gone Too Soon From the Heart of Eldon
The community of Eldon, Missouri, is grieving an unimaginable loss as they mourn the passing of Katelyn Lea Ferguson, a vibrant 21-year-old whose life touched countless hearts. Katelyn passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of gentleness, compassion, and love far beyond her years. At just 21, she had already shaped the lives of so many—her family, her friends, her coworkers, her church community, and most of all, her two beloved children. Her absence has created a void that cannot be filled, yet her beautiful spirit continues to shine through the memories shared by all who knew her.
Born on March 14, 2004, Katelyn was the cherished daughter of Corbett and Amber (Plemmons) Eidson and William Ferguson. From a young age, she radiated kindness and sincerity, a presence that made others feel safe, valued, and understood. Her gentle heart was her greatest gift, and she shared it freely, leaving a lasting imprint on everyone she encountered.
A Devoted Mother, Daughter & Friend Whose Love Knew No Bounds
More than anything in the world, Katelyn loved her children—Lyndsey and Dayton, who meant everything to her. She was a devoted and nurturing mother, pouring every ounce of strength and tenderness she had into giving them a life filled with love, safety, and joy. Her children were her purpose, her pride, and her greatest source of happiness. Those who knew her say that motherhood brought out the very best in her, illuminating the depth of her compassion and the strength of her heart.
Katelyn was a proud student of Eldon High School and a cherished member of Ninth Street Christian Church, where her quiet kindness made a profound impact. She worked at Eldon Nursing Home and Rehab—a role that perfectly reflected her nature. Caring for others came effortlessly to her. Coworkers and residents describe her as someone who brought warmth and light to every room she entered, someone who treated others with dignity, respect, and love.
She leaves behind her parents, siblings—Mckenzie Ferguson, Arabella Eidson, and Ansley Eidson—and grandparents who loved her deeply. Their heartbreak is immeasurable, yet so is the love she gave them throughout her life. Katelyn is preceded in death by grandparents David Eidson and Harriet Hunter, who now welcome her into eternal peace.
A Community United in Grief, Love & Remembrance
A Celebration of Life honoring Katelyn will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Ninth Street Christian Church, with Pastor Chris Reynolds leading the service. Her family will gather privately at Hopewell Cemetery at a later date, where they will lay her to rest with love and grace.
In her honor, memorial contributions are being accepted by Ninth Street Christian Church of Eldon, Missouri. As the community mourns, they also hold tightly to the memory of a young woman whose heart was pure, whose love was unwavering, and whose life—though far too brief—made the world a kinder place.
